Reddit Ads: Common Issues
Running into trouble? Here's what comes up most often.
"I can't find User Management or Invite New Members"
Two ways to get there:
- From the dashboard: Look for "Invite New Members" on the right side of the main Ads dashboard at ads.reddit.com.
- From the menu: Click your user icon in the top-right, then pick "User Management".
If you can't see either option, you might not have Admin or Business Admin access. Only administrators can invite new team members.
"I'm confused about the two role settings"
Reddit uses two permission layers when inviting someone:
| Layer | What it controls | What to pick |
|---|---|---|
| Business-Level Role | Access to the overall business | Member |
| Ad Account-Level Role | What they can do in your ad account | Administrator |
Make sure you set both for each person. If you only set one, they might not have the access they need.
Quick reference for the ad account roles
| Role | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Analyst | View-only, can see reports but can't change anything |
| Creator | Can create and manage campaigns, but no billing or user management |
| Administrator | Full access: campaigns, reporting, conversion tracking, user management |
We need Administrator to manage your campaigns properly.
"The team member didn't get the invitation email"
A few things to check:
- Spam/junk folder. Reddit invites sometimes get caught by filters. Ask them to check there.
- Typo in the email. Double-check the address matches exactly, with no extra spaces. They all end with @geekytech.co.uk.
- Resend it. You can find pending invitations in User Management and resend from there.
"The team member can't accept the invite"
Each person needs a Reddit account before they can accept. If someone clicks the invite link and can't get through, they probably need to:
- Go to reddit.com and create a free account.
- Then click the invitation link again.
INFO
This is a free, one-time thing. Our team members will have their Reddit accounts ready, but if there's any delay this is probably why.
"I don't have a Reddit Ads account"
No problem! To set one up:
- Go to ads.reddit.com.
- Sign in with your Reddit account (or create one at reddit.com first).
- Follow the setup prompts and add payment info.
You don't need to run any ads before inviting team members. You just need the account to exist.
"I want to change someone's permissions after inviting them"
- Before they accept: You can edit the invitation in User Management > Invitations.
- After they accept: Go to User Management, find the person, and update their role.
"I only want to add one or two people, not five"
We'd recommend adding the full team for coverage, but if you prefer fewer, that's fine. Please add at least two so your account is always covered. Your GeekyTech account manager can tell you which ones to prioritise.
"Someone else manages my Reddit Ads"
If another person or agency is currently managing your Reddit Ads:
- Check with them about who has Admin access.
- Make sure you've got Business Admin or Ad Account Administrator access yourself.
- Once you do, you can invite our team.
"I want to remove team members later"
Anytime:
- Go to ads.reddit.com and sign in.
- Open User Management (via the user icon menu in the top-right).
- Find the person you want to remove.
- Click the options menu and hit Remove.
