Grant Us Access to Google Analytics 4
We need access to your Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property so we can track campaign performance, build audiences, and make sure your ad spend is driving real results.
What you'll need
- Access to your GA4 property at analytics.google.com (you need to be an Administrator)
- Our email address below
- About 5 minutes
Who to add
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| team@geekytech.co.uk | |
| Role | Administrator |
Step 1: Open Google Analytics
- Go to analytics.google.com and sign in.
- If you have multiple properties, make sure you're viewing the right one. Use the property switcher in the top-left to check.
Step 2: Go to Access Management
- Click the Admin gear icon in the bottom-left corner.
- In the Property column, click Property Access Management.
Can't see Property Access Management?
If you don't see this option, you don't have Administrator access to the property. You'll need to ask whoever set up GA4 to either add us directly or give you Administrator permissions first.
Step 3: Add our email
- Click the blue + button in the top-right corner.
- Select Add Users.
- Enter our email address: team@geekytech.co.uk
- Under roles, select Administrator.
- Make sure "Notify new users by email" is ticked (it should be by default).
- Leave both data restriction boxes unchecked (so we can see all the data we need).
- Click Add.
Done! We'll get an email letting us know we've been added.
Why do we need Administrator access?
Administrator lets us do everything we need to manage your analytics properly:
| Permission | Included? |
|---|---|
| View all reports and data | Yes |
| Create and manage audiences | Yes |
| Configure conversion events | Yes |
| Link GA4 to Google Ads | Yes |
| Manage other users on this property | Yes |
| Change account-level settings | No |
TIP
Administrator at the property level doesn't give us control over your entire GA4 account. We can only manage the specific property you add us to. You stay in charge of the overall account.
What about data restrictions?
When adding a user, GA4 gives you two optional restrictions:
| Restriction | What it hides |
|---|---|
| No cost metrics | Hides advertising spend data |
| No revenue metrics | Hides sales and transaction revenue |
We'd recommend leaving both unchecked so we can see the full picture when managing your campaigns. But if you'd prefer to restrict either one, that's fine. Just let your GeekyTech account manager know so we can adjust how we report.
GA4 roles explained
For reference, here are all the roles GA4 offers:
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Full access, including managing users and settings |
| Editor | Edit settings, create audiences, configure conversions (but can't manage users) |
| Marketer | Manage audiences, conversions, and events (but can't change data collection settings) |
| Analyst | Create and edit reports and explorations (but can't change settings) |
| Viewer | View reports only, can't change anything |
We ask for Administrator so we can handle everything without needing to come back to you for permission changes.
What happens next?
Once we're added:
- We can start reviewing your analytics data and linking it with your ad campaigns.
- You stay the account owner. You can change or remove our access anytime.
- We'll confirm we're in and let you know if anything needs attention.
